Tidal Warrior turns any land into an Island until end of turn — useful for enabling islandwalk and feeding island-count payoffs, but only on your upkeep and only temporarily. It's a narrow, fragile effect on a 1/1 body, and most decks have no reason to run it.

Tidal Warrior sees essentially no competitive play anywhere it's legal. In Commander, it shows up almost exclusively in islandwalk-tribal lists or Sygg, River Guide shells where making blockers unblockable matters, and even there it's a fringe inclusion. Pauper is its most plausible home, but the effect is too slow and situational to find a real slot. Legacy and Vintage have access to so many better enablers that Tidal Warrior is invisible.
