Thran Foundry

In Commander, Thran Foundry fills a specific niche: repeatable graveyard hate that never runs out, which matters in long games where a single Rest in Peace would get removed and a Tormod's Crypt gets cashed in once. The two-mana activation is slow enough that dedicated graveyard decks can often outpace it, so it works best as a supplemental piece alongside faster hate rather than a standalone answer. In Legacy and Vintage, the card is legal but sees essentially no play — one-shot options like Surgical Extraction and Leyline of the Void are simply more efficient at the mana investment that format demands. Thran Foundry's home is Commander, and only in metas where graveyard recursion is persistent enough to justify the cumulative activation cost.
