Thraben Exorcism destroys a Spirit or Enchantment at instant speed for two mana — clean, permanent removal with no targeting restriction on the enchantment half. The downside is narrow coverage: against a table running neither creature type nor enchantments, it's a dead card.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Thraben Exorcism is a niche sideboard-style card that earns a slot only if your meta is thick with Auras, enchantress builds, or Spirit-tribal decks — otherwise Generous Gift or Chaos Warp outclass it by hitting anything. In Pauper, enchantment removal at common is genuinely scarce, and the instant speed makes it a reasonable inclusion in white decks that need to answer opposing Auras. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer have access to much more efficient targeted removal, so Thraben Exorcism doesn't compete at those tables. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander's logic: meta-dependent, not a default inclusion.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Thraben Exorcism is deep bulk — you'll find copies in any common box without thinking twice. The price reflects its narrow applicability; it holds stable at the floor and offers no financial upside, but you're not buying it for that.
