Thoughtweft Gambit taps all creatures your opponents control and untaps all of yours — a full combat reset on a single instant. The five-mana cost is steep, but Kitsa, Otterball Elite and similar token commanders can turn that tap-all into a lethal alpha strike on the same turn.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Thoughtweft Gambit sees essentially zero competitive play in Legacy, Modern, or Vintage — five mana for a tap/untap effect is too slow when those formats end the game on turns two through four. Commander is where it lives: one-shot wins in go-wide token decks, surprise blocks that invalidate an opponent's attack, or pseudo-vigilance for a board that just swung out. The tribal Kithkin rider is flavor text in most pods, but it is occasionally relevant in dedicated Kithkin builds.

Current price
$0.22 bulk tier
At $0.22, Thoughtweft Gambit is firmly bulk — you're paying for the effect, not scarcity. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to move unless a high-profile token commander pushes it into the spotlight.
