Thorn-Thrash Viashino card art
Thorn-Thrash Viashino is a 4/4 trample for four that can gain devour 2 — eat two creatures on entry and you're looking at a 8/8 trampler for the same cost. The catch is the devour clause requires other creatures to sacrifice, so it does nothing without a board state to feed it.

In Commander, Thorn-Thrash Viashino earns a slot in dedicated devour or sacrifice-value decks where it doubles as a payoff and a board-state reset button — commanders like Prossh, Skyraider of Kher or Lyzolda, the Blood Witch generate the fodder it wants. Outside of those focused shells it's outclassed by generically stronger four-drops. In Pauper it's legal but the format's creature density and tempo demands leave little room for a conditional beater that needs setup. Legacy and Vintage have zero interest — the power ceiling is too low for those formats to notice it exists.

Price Context

Current price

$0.14 bulk tier

At $0.14, Thorn-Thrash Viashino is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and nothing else. Bulk rare prices like this don't move unless a new commander pushes devour into the spotlight, so pick it up for pennies when you need it and don't expect the price to matter either way.
