Textbook Tabulator card art
Textbook Tabulator enters and immediately generates a mass of Frog tokens equal to the number of permanents your opponents control — in a four-player game that's routinely 15–25 bodies from a single three-mana play. The cost is that those tokens only survive until end of turn, so the card lives or dies by what you do with that window.

Grolnok, the Omnivore

23.3% of decks · synergy 0.22

Grolnok, the Omnivore turns every one of those temporary Frogs into a free mill-and-exile trigger, letting Textbook Tabulator effectively cantrip through your library at a scale most draw spells can't match.

Clement, the Worrywort

Clement, the Worrywort

18.8% of decks · synergy 0.17

Clement, the Worrywort cares about creatures entering the battlefield, so Textbook Tabulator's burst of Frogs translates directly into a proportional pile of +1/+1 counters, card draws, or other Clement triggers all at once.

Textbook Tabulator is a Commander card through and through — the token count scales with the number of permanents across three opponents, which is where it produces absurd value. In 1v1 formats like Legacy, Modern, or Pioneer it enters as a three-mana 1/1 that makes a handful of tokens that disappear immediately, which is simply not competitive. Pauper is the one other format where its common status keeps it cheap to slot in, but the same 1v1 ceiling applies. Play it in Commander and nowhere else.

$0.11 bulk tier

At $0.11, Textbook Tabulator is deep bulk — you'll find it in dollar bins and budget picks without a second thought. Bulk rares with narrow homes tend to stay in this range indefinitely, so don't expect price movement; just pick up copies freely when building Grolnok or any token-payoff list.
