Tester of the Tangential is a bulk rare that trades a minor upside — scrying and drawing when you cast your second spell each turn — for a three-mana body with no immediate board impact. The payoff is too slow and too conditional to compete with the card-draw engines that actually move Commander games.

Tester of the Tangential is legal across every major constructed format but hasn't found a home in any of them. In Commander, the trigger fires at most once per turn and requires you to already be ahead on tempo, which is exactly when you need it least. Competitive and even mid-power tables move too fast for a 3-mana do-nothing-on-entry creature to earn a slot over instant-speed or repeatable draw engines. In 60-card formats the bar is even higher, and a conditional scry-plus-draw stapled to a vanilla body doesn't clear it.

Current price
$0.18 bulk tier
At $0.18, Tester of the Tangential sits firmly in bulk territory. That price reflects the demand accurately — there's no competitive shell pulling copies, so don't expect it to climb.
