Territorial Bruntar is a 7/6 trampler that punishes opponents for casting spells on your turn, taxing each spell they cast with a forced fight against it. The cost — six mana for a creature that does nothing until opponents react — is steep enough that it only earns its slot in dedicated stax or punisher builds.

In Commander, Territorial Bruntar finds its best home: six mana is manageable in a 40-life format, and the threat of a forced fight with a 7/6 trample genuinely deters reactive players from interacting on your turn. Outside Commander, the picture dims fast — in Modern and Pioneer the six-mana ask competes with game-ending threats, and the punisher clause only fires when opponents choose to cast spells, which they simply won't. Legacy and Vintage have enough free interaction that Territorial Bruntar never resolves cleanly. Stick to Commander.

Price Context
Current price
$0.11 bulk tier
At $0.11, Territorial Bruntar is deep bulk — you're paying essentially nothing for a build-around creature with real on-board presence. Bulk rares with narrow synergy profiles tend to stay at this price floor, so there's no meaningful upside to speculating, but the cost-to-effect ratio for the decks that actually want it is excellent.
