Tempted by the Oriq steals every creature and planeswalker with mana value 3 or less your opponents control — at instant speed, for three mana. That ceiling is enormous in most pods, and the floor is still a ritual-disruption piece that takes the scariest small threat on the board.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Commander is where Tempted by the Oriq does its best work — three opponents means three chances to hit a mana value 3 or less creature or planeswalker, and in most pods that sweep is nearly total since the format runs so many cheap value creatures. In Legacy and Vintage the card is legal but faces a speed problem: those formats are full of mana value 0–1 interaction that wins before a three-mana sorcery resolves, and taking a creature rarely ends the game on its own. Pioneer and Modern are similarly unfriendly; decks there are built lean and the effect doesn't close games fast enough to justify the slot. Oathbreaker is the hidden second home — small card pools and lower curve totals mean Tempted by the Oriq's sweep is frequently a near-total board takeover for three mana.

Price Context
Current price
$0.35 bulk tier
At $0.35, Tempted by the Oriq is firmly bulk, which is a significant mismatch with its actual power level in Commander. Don't expect that price to reflect the card's ceiling — grab copies now while supply from its original printing keeps it cheap.
