Tempt with Glory puts a +1/+1 counter on each of your creatures, then offers opponents the same deal — and in Commander, at least one player almost always bites, turning a six-mana sorcery into a massive board-wide pump. That free rider for opponents is the real cost, but in a go-wide deck that's already winning the board, the math is almost always in your favor.

Tempt with Glory is a Commander card through and through — the tempt mechanic only becomes interesting with three or more opponents to negotiate against. In Legacy and Vintage, where it's technically legal, six mana for a conditional pump spell competes with formats that end games on turns one through three; it will never see serious play there. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander context where Tempt with Glory could occasionally show up, since the multiplayer table preserves the political angle. Stick to Commander, specifically in go-wide or counter-synergy builds where the primary pump is already worth the mana even before a single opponent accepts.

Price Context
Current price
$0.30 bulk tier
At $0.30, Tempt with Glory is firmly bulk — easy to pick up in any trade binder or as a throw-in. Bulk rares with niche Commander applications rarely climb unless they land in a popular precon or get a spike mention, so don't expect movement, but at this price there's no reason to hesitate if the card fits your deck.
