Temporary Truce gives every player a draw-two and a land drop in exchange for a temporary ceasefire — cheap political currency at two mana. It's a group-hug piece that advances your own development while buying goodwill, and in Commander that trade is almost always worth it.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Temporary Truce is a Commander card through and through — the symmetrical effect that looks like a drawback in one-on-one formats becomes a feature at a four-player table, where buying peace from three opponents simultaneously is worth far more than two cards and a land. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; no competitive deck wants to hand opponents card advantage on turn one with no attached threat. Oathbreaker follows the same logic as Commander at smaller scale, where the political value is real but the two-player math is trickier.

Price Context
Current price
$0.28 bulk tier
At $0.28, Temporary Truce sits firmly in bulk territory — easy to pick up as a throw-in or from a bulk bin. Bulk group-hug pieces rarely climb unless a marquee commander pushes demand, so expect the price to stay flat.
