Tazri, Beacon of Unity tutors any two Ally, Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, or Wizard from your library directly to hand for as little as two mana, making it an engine piece that pays for itself the turn it attacks. The cost is a five-mana body that does nothing without combat — but in the right shell, that's a minor tax on a repeatable two-card tutor.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Tazri, Beacon of Unity belongs — the ability scales with the density of supported creature types in a 99-card deck, and five colors means no restrictions on what you can tutor. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's legal but effectively invisible; the cost and combat dependency don't compete with those formats' interaction density and clock. Oathbreaker is a theoretical fit for a go-wide Ally or Wizard strategy, but the format's 60-card constraints limit how deep the payoff goes.

Price Context
Current price
$0.27 bulk tier
At $0.27, Tazri, Beacon of Unity is bulk — easy to pick up as a four-of or toss into any Allied tribal build without a second thought. Bulk five-color commanders with narrow tribal text rarely spike unless a new support package pushes them into the spotlight, so expect the floor to hold.
