Taunt from the Rampart card art
Taunt from the Rampart forces each opponent to attack with all creatures able to do so on their next turn — a table-wide goad effect stapled to a single sorcery. In Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser builds, that mass compulsion is the whole game plan, and this card is one of its cleanest enablers at instant-adjacent timing.

Commanders with the highest synergy

02
Éowyn, Shieldmaiden

Éowyn, Shieldmaiden

61.6% of decks · synergy 0.56

Éowyn, Shieldmaiden rewards you whenever a creature attacks for the first time each turn, and Taunt from the Rampart floods the board with mandatory attackers — most of them hitting that threshold simultaneously and triggering a wave of Hero tokens.

03
Aragorn, King of Gondor

Aragorn, King of Gondor

52.7% of decks · synergy 0.48

Aragorn, King of Gondor wants as many opponents attacking as possible to keep the Ring tempting you reliably, and Taunt from the Rampart guarantees a full table of attackers without requiring any setup on subsequent turns.

04
Marisi, Breaker of the Coil

Marisi, Breaker of the Coil

44.3% of decks · synergy 0.43

Marisi, Breaker of the Coil locks opponents out of casting spells on turns they attack, and Taunt from the Rampart converts that into a table-wide silence with minimal mana investment — one card does the work of several individual goad spells.

05
Aurelia, the Law Above

Aurelia, the Law Above

46.6% of decks · synergy 0.40

Aurelia, the Law Above taxes opponents for attacking and for not attacking, so Taunt from the Rampart herding every creature into the red zone sets up the punishment triggers Aurelia is designed to chain together.

oathbreaker

Taunt from the Rampart is a Commander-native card — the three-player minimum needed to make mass goading impactful only exists at the multiplayer table. In Legacy and Vintage, where it's technically legal, the effect is a do-nothing sorcery in a game with one opponent and a board state that ends before you'd see its payoff. Oathbreaker is the one other format worth mentioning: a Boros or Naya spellshaper planeswalker can leverage the forced-attack trigger, but the smaller life totals mean the chaos resolves faster than the strategy can compound. Commander is the only realistic home.

Price Context

Current price

$4.12 cheap tier

At $4.12, Taunt from the Rampart sits at the high end of the budget tier but is firmly in impulse-buy territory for any goad deck. It's a unique effect with no direct reprint and a clear home in several popular archetypes, so the price is unlikely to erode significantly.
