Tajic, Legion's Edge card art
Tajic, Legion's Edge gives your entire team prevention against noncombat damage — every board wipe that deals damage, every Blasphemous Act, every Pyrohoof — while coming down as a 3/2 with mentor and haste for three mana. That's a protection effect stapled to a relevant body at a price aggressive Boros decks are genuinely happy to pay.

Commander Mustard

Commander Mustard

60.0% of decks · synergy 0.56

Commander Mustard's go-wide, attack-focused gameplan makes Tajic, Legion's Edge a near-automatic include — the noncombat damage prevention shields the whole board from sweepers that would otherwise reset the entire offense.

02
General Ferrous Rokiric

General Ferrous Rokiric

55.9% of decks · synergy 0.52

General Ferrous Rokiric builds a token army by casting multicolor spells, and Tajic, Legion's Edge protects that entire board from Pyroclasm-style hate that would otherwise wipe out every 4/4 Golem before they ever swing.

03
Iroas, God of Victory

Iroas, God of Victory

38.2% of decks · synergy 0.34

Iroas, God of Victory already keeps attackers from being blocked effectively; Tajic, Legion's Edge layers on damage-based sweeper insurance so the creatures Iroas puts through don't get burned away on the opponent's turn.

In Commander, Tajic, Legion's Edge fills a narrow but real role: a three-mana body that blanket-protects your team from damage-based board wipes, which are some of the most common mass-removal spells in the format. In Modern and Pioneer, a 3/2 haste for three is below the curve for competitive play, and the protection ability rarely lines up against what those formats are doing — he sees essentially no constructed play. Legacy and Vintage are even less hospitable; the stats and the effect don't translate to those power levels. Tajic, Legion's Edge is a Commander card through and through, and specifically the right Commander card when your deck's gameplan collapses to a single Blasphemous Act.

Pricing data for Tajic, Legion's Edge isn't available at the moment, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for the current number. Given that he's a single-printing rare with a narrow but genuine niche in Boros Commander, he's historically been an easy pickup — worth grabbing if you're building a deck that bleeds to damage sweepers.
