Tahngarth's Glare forces each opponent to sacrifice a creature with the greatest power among creatures they control — every turn you attack, for free, as a triggered ability. The catch is narrow: it only fires when you attack with a legendary creature, making it dead weight in decks without a consistent legendary attacker.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

In Commander, Tahngarth's Glare is a niche but real threat in legendary-attacker builds — forcing three opponents to sacrifice their biggest creature every combat is a board-control engine that scales with multiplayer tables. Outside Commander, the card sees no meaningful competitive play; Legacy and Vintage have the card pool to run it but zero incentive to, since legendary-combat synergies aren't viable strategies there. Pauper is its only other legal home at common, but the format's creature-light control shells and aggro mirrors have no use for a trigger that requires attacking with a specific creature type.

Price Context
Current price
$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Tahngarth's Glare is pure bulk — a throw-in card you pick up in a lot rather than seek out. Demand is too narrow for the price to move; it will stay at the floor unless a popular legendary-attacker commander pushes inclusion rates up.
