Commander is where Symbiosis earns its keep, specifically in decks built around +1/+1 counters — Brokkos, Apex of Forever evolve shells, Atraxa, Praetors' Voice superfriends variants, and any Simic counters build that wants cheap instant-speed proliferate fodder. Outside Commander, Symbiosis is legal in Legacy, Vintage, and Pauper, but none of those formats run it with any regularity — the effect is too narrow for the card-selection depth those formats offer.
