Sway of Illusion changes all permanents of one color to another color until end of turn — a narrow but explosive effect that enables mass targeted triggers in the right shell. The most notorious application is pairing it with Venerated Rotpriest: make all your opponents' creatures green, then cast a single spell that targets each of them, and Rotpriest's trigger stacks lethal poison across the table in one shot.

Sway of Illusion is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, and sees essentially zero play in the non-rotating 60-card formats where the effect is too conditional to compete. Commander is its natural home, specifically in combo decks that care about color identity or mass-targeting triggers — the kind of shell where a one-turn color shift translates into a kill. Outside of those narrow archetypes, Sway of Illusion sits in the bulk box; the effect has almost no general application in fair games.

$0.70 bulk tier
At $0.70, Sway of Illusion sits in bulk-rare territory and is unlikely to move without a breakout combo being publicized. Pick it up cheap if you're building the deck that wants it — there's no reason to pay a premium.
