Swamp Mosquito exists to deal poison counters one at a time via a 1/1 flying body with swampwalk — the ceiling is poisoning one opponent to death across ten unblocked attacks, which is an enormous ask in any multiplayer game. It's a bulk common for a reason.

In Commander, Swamp Mosquito is technically a poison win condition, but the math is brutal: landing ten unblocked hits on a single target while three opponents are also advancing their boards is close to impossible without dedicated support. Legacy, Vintage, and Pauper all move too fast for a 1/1 that deals one poison counter per swing — infect made this strategy obsolete the moment it entered the game. Pauper poison decks have far more efficient vectors. Swamp Mosquito is legal in more formats than it's playable in any of them.
