Supreme Inquisitor locks an opponent's entire library away the moment it connects — five tapped lands hits almost any mana base hard enough to strand their best spells permanently. The five-mana body with islandwalk is the cost: you need to enable islandwalk yourself, whether through Stonybrook Schoolmaster's Merfolk tokens or Island-granting effects, or it almost never connects.

Commander is the natural home for Supreme Inquisitor — 100-card decks mean opponents have more cards to exile, and a single hit can effectively remove a player's win condition from the game. Blue Merfolk and Wizard tribal commanders that can flood the board with Islandwalkers turn it from a situational threat into a near-guaranteed lock. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but far too slow and conditional to see competitive play — five mana for a fragile creature that requires setup is nowhere close to the power level those formats demand. Supreme Inquisitor is a Commander card through and through.

Current price
$0.55 bulk tier
At $0.55, Supreme Inquisitor sits firmly in bulk rare territory, which makes it an easy pickup for any tribal build that can use it. The price is unlikely to move much — the card is narrow enough to keep casual demand low, but the effect is unique enough that it won't disappear entirely either.
