Superior Numbers draws you cards equal to the difference between your biggest creature type count and your opponents' smallest — in a tribal deck, that gap is often four or five cards on turn three. At one blue mana, it's one of the most efficient tribal payoffs ever printed.
Format Analysis

Superior Numbers is a Commander card through and through — the three-opponent table guarantees a wide spread of creature type counts, making the ceiling reliably high in any focused tribal build. Legacy and Vintage technically permit it, but the sorcery speed and tribal dependency make it a non-starter in those formats where draw spells compete with Brainstorm and Treasure Cruise. Oathbreaker can support it in the same way Commander does, provided the signature spell or commander backs a tribal gameplan. Outside tribal Commander, it's a blank — the math collapses fast when your own board isn't type-stacked.

Price Context
Current price
$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Superior Numbers is bulk-bin pricing for a card that routinely draws four or more cards in the decks that want it. That price reflects narrow tribal demand, not narrow power — pick up copies freely.
