Sunspear Shikari
Creature — Cat Soldier
As long as this creature is equipped, it has first strike and lifelink. (It deals combat damage before creatures without first strike. Damage dealt by it also causes you to gain that much life.)

Sunspear Shikari turns any equipped creature into a lifelink-and-first-strike threat for free — the moment you attach any Equipment, you get two keywords with no additional mana investment. Two mana for a 2/1 is below-rate on its own, but in a deck already built around Equipment, this is one of the most efficient payoffs available.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

In Commander, Sunspear Shikari earns its slot in any Equipment-focused build — Voltron commanders like Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale or Galea, Kindler of Hope want every creature that converts Equipment into free keywords, and lifelink plus first strike is a meaningful defensive profile in a multiplayer game. In Pauper, where Equipment strategies are a real axis of competition, Sunspear Shikari is a legitimate inclusion — the common slot is contested, but a 2/1 that becomes a first-strike lifelinker under Bonesplitter or Flayer Husk pulls real weight. Legacy and Vintage are the wrong rooms entirely; two mana for a conditional bear doesn't survive contact with those formats' baselines.

$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Sunspear Shikari is deep bulk — you're paying essentially nothing for a card that does real work in the right shell. Bulk commons don't appreciate, but that's irrelevant when the floor is already the price of a gumball.
