Study the Classics card art
Study the Classics puts two +1/+1 counters on a creature for two mana — cheap enough to slot into any counters deck without a second thought. Skullbriar, the Walking Grave is the flagship home: two counters that survive zone changes is exactly the persistent threat the deck wants.

Study the Classics is a Commander card through and through — the +1/+1 counter synergy ecosystem that makes it worth running simply doesn't exist at meaningful density in Legacy or Vintage, where it's technically legal but functionally outclassed by faster interaction. In Commander, a dedicated counters commander turns this into a cheap, reliable threat-grower that scales with proliferate and doubling effects. Oathbreaker has the same counter-synergy ceiling in a more concentrated 60-card shell, which can actually make Study the Classics marginally more consistent there than in the 99.

Price Context

Current price

$0.48 bulk tier

At $0.48, Study the Classics is bulk — grab a copy without thinking about it. Bulk counter-synergy pieces don't tend to spike unless the commander driving demand becomes a breakout build, so expect the price to stay flat.
