Structural Distortion exiles an artifact or land and deals 2 damage to its controller — permanent removal at instant speed for three mana. It's a fine answer to Sol Ring or a troublesome utility land, but three mana at sorcery speed would already be mediocre, and the 2 damage rider doesn't compensate for the cost.

In Commander, Structural Distortion competes in a slot where you need removal to pull weight at any point in the game, and three mana for a single target — even one that exiles — rarely clears that bar when Chaos Warp, Return to Nature, and Generous Gift all do more for the same or less. In Pauper, the commons pool is thin enough that exile-based artifact removal at instant speed has genuine demand, and this sees occasional sideboard play there. Across Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer the card is legal but functionally absent — faster, more efficient options make Structural Distortion invisible in those formats.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Structural Distortion is deep bulk — you're not buying it, you're finding it in a trade binder or a leftover draft pile. There's no price floor to speak of at this tier, and nothing about the card's design suggests a revaluation upward.
