Strength of Cedars turns a large board into a one-shot threat — it gives a creature +X/+X where X is the number of lands you control, which in a green stompy deck routinely means +10 or more for a single green mana. It's a finisher disguised as a combat trick, and at instant speed it demands an answer or ends the game.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Strength of Cedars is most at home in green landfall or big-mana decks where land counts hit 15–20 by mid-game, making the pump absurd on a trampler or an unblocked general. Legacy and Vintage both have it legal, but neither format gives it a real home — those formats kill before you accumulate the lands that make this worthwhile, and Berserk does the same job on a faster clock. Modern is legal but similarly inhospitable; you're not assembling 12 lands in a format that ends on turn 4. Strength of Cedars is a Commander card through and through.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Strength of Cedars is deep bulk — you'll find it in a common box or a bulk lot, not worth a dedicated order on its own. At that price it holds negligible financial value, but as a functional card in the right green Commander shell it punches well above its cost.
