Stonerise Spirit gives a creature flying until end of turn for two mana — a narrow, one-shot effect that rarely justifies a deck slot. The card asks you to pay full price for a 1/2 flier stapled to an ability other cards provide cheaper and repeatedly.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Stonerise Spirit is legal in Commander, Pauper, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but competitive play in any of those formats has little use for it. In Pauper, where commons need to pull weight, a 1/2 for two mana with a conditional activated ability doesn't match the efficiency of other white common creatures. Commander is the most forgiving format for low-power cards, but even there, a single-target flying grant at sorcery-equivalent speed rarely affects the board meaningfully across four players. Skip it in every format.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Stonerise Spirit is deep bulk — the kind of card that fills a common box at a card shop. That price reflects its play rate accurately, and there's no realistic demand spike that would move it.
