Stoneforge Masterwork card art
Stoneforge Masterwork turns any creature in a tribal or party-matters deck into a legitimate threat — each creature type you control adds a +1/+1 counter and trample, so a well-populated board can push one attacker into lethal territory fast. The one mana to cast and two to equip is nearly free for what it delivers, and Sokka and Suki decks in particular treat it as a core payoff.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Sokka and Suki

Sokka and Suki

45.4% of decks · synergy 0.45

Sokka and Suki rewards assembling a party — Warriors, Rogues, Wizards, and Clerics — and Stoneforge Masterwork scales directly off that same creature-type diversity, routinely landing as a +3/+3 or better trample bonus on whoever needs to close the game.

02
Shroofus Sproutsire

Shroofus Sproutsire

22.8% of decks · synergy 0.22

Shroofus Sproutsire builds around a wide board of varied creature types, and Stoneforge Masterwork converts that breadth into a one-shot threat by stacking every distinct type into raw power and trample on a single attacker.

Stoneforge Masterwork is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it only does meaningful work in shells that deliberately stack multiple creature types. In Commander it's a legitimate roleplayer in tribal-adjacent and party decks, where five or more relevant types are easy to assemble and the equip cost is trivial. In Modern and Pioneer the card sees essentially no competitive play — two-mana equip on a conditional pump is too slow when creature-type synergies are better served by lords or Collected Company lines. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in it whatsoever.

Pricing data for Stoneforge Masterwork isn't available in this snapshot, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for the current number before buying. It's a niche tribal equipment with a narrow home, so expect a budget-friendly price unless a breakout Commander deck spikes demand.
