Commander is where Stir the Grave earns its keep — the scalable X cost means it's never a dead draw, whether you're grabbing a free sacrifice outlet early or reanimating a six-drop threat late. In Pauper it sees fringe play in reanimator shells that can't afford premium options, though the format's creature density and graveyard hate keep it from being dominant. Legacy and Vintage have access to strictly stronger reanimation, so Stir the Grave doesn't see competitive play there.
