Sterling Supplier enters with a +1/+1 counter and puts another counter on a creature you control at the start of each combat — reliable, repeatable proliferate-adjacent pressure that compounds fast in the right shell. The cost is that it does nothing without a counters synergy around it, making it a strict role-player rather than a standalone threat.

Sterling Supplier is a Commander card through and through — the counters payoff accumulates over a long game, and the format's creature-heavy tables give it plenty of targets. In faster non-rotating formats like Modern and Pioneer, two mana for a 1/1 that spreads counters is simply too slow to matter unless you're deep in a dedicated +1/+1 counters brew, and even there it competes with stronger options. Pauper is the one non-Commander format where Sterling Supplier could see fringe play, since the common card pool narrows the competition. Legacy and Vintage don't want it at any price.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
Sterling Supplier sits at $0.05, firmly bulk territory. At that price there's no financial downside to picking up copies, but don't expect the price to move — it's a build-around common with a narrow home, and supply will always outpace demand.
