Steamclaw exiles an artifact or enchantment from a graveyard for two mana — useful, but the restriction to a single permanent and the colorless cost make it a niche role-player rather than a staple. Run it when your meta is heavy on graveyard recursion of noncreature permanents and you need a cheap, colorless answer.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

In Commander, Steamclaw fills a narrow graveyard-hate slot — colorless means any deck can run it, but dedicated hate pieces like Nihil Spellbomb or Soul-Guide Lantern do more for the same or less mana. Legacy and Vintage have access to the full suite of graveyard interaction, so Steamclaw rarely competes there. It's legal in Oathbreaker, where the same logic applies: better options exist unless you specifically need an artifact-typed piece that interacts with your strategy.

Price Context
Current price
$0.15 bulk tier
At $0.15, Steamclaw is deep bulk — you're paying for a slot, not a card. That price won't move; demand is too low and supply too wide for any upward pressure.
