Stealth Mission puts a +1/+1 counter on a creature and makes it unblockable for the turn — all for three mana at instant speed. It's a fine combat trick in dedicated counters or voltron builds, but three mana for a one-turn effect is a steep ask when most formats offer cheaper, repeatable evasion.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Stealth Mission earns a slot in Simic voltron decks that need one more way to push a suited-up creature through blockers, or in counters synergy decks where every +1/+1 counter triggers matter. Outside Commander, the card is legal in Legacy, Vintage, Modern, Pioneer, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but it sees essentially no play in any of them — three mana at instant speed doesn't clear the bar in formats where threats resolve faster and removal is cheaper. Pauper is its most plausible home outside EDH, but even there evasion-granting options at common compete hard.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Stealth Mission is pure bulk — you're paying almost nothing for what it does, and that price reflects it. Don't expect movement; bulk commons in this role bracket don't climb unless a specific deck puts them on a buylist.
