Steadfast Sentry replaces itself when it dies, stapling a looting effect onto a 2/2 vigilance body at two mana. The rate is fair enough for graveyard and aristocrats shells that want cheap creatures with built-in value, but it won't demand a slot outside those contexts.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

In Commander, Steadfast Sentry earns a look in sacrifice and graveyard decks that need cheap, self-replacing fodder — the looting effect on death feeds the yard while replacing the card in hand. Outside that niche, it competes against a deep pool of two-drop utility creatures and rarely wins that fight. In Pauper it's legal but too passive for a format where two-mana creatures need to threaten the board immediately or generate hard card advantage rather than a loot. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer offer such a density of superior options that Steadfast Sentry essentially doesn't exist in those formats competitively.

Price Context
Current price
$0.03 bulk tier
At $0.03, Steadfast Sentry is pure bulk — you're paying for cardboard and shipping, not the card itself. There's no meaningful price upside here; it will stay in the bulk bin unless a future combo or commander pushes surprising demand.
