Starnheim Unleashed puts a 4/4 flying Angel token with vigilance into play for five mana — or a whole army of them if you foretell it and pay the X cost late. The foretell discount makes it one of the more efficient token generators in white, and Ranar the Ever-Watchful turns every foretell activation into a free 1/1 Spirit on top of whatever Angels you're buying.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Ranar the Ever-Watchful
Ranar the Ever-Watchful triggers on the foretell of Starnheim Unleashed, producing a free 1/1 Spirit before you've spent a single mana on the spell itself — so you're ahead on board the turn you exile it and ahead again when you cast it for the discounted cost.

Giada, Font of Hope
Giada, Font of Hope reduces the effective cost of every Angel Starnheim Unleashed produces, and the tokens enter already buffed by however many Angels you already control — late-game X casts snowball fast in her deck.

Liesa, Forgotten Archangel
Liesa, Forgotten Archangel recycles creatures that die, and the wave of 4/4 Angels Starnheim Unleashed creates gives her a wide, evasive board that threatens to refuel if an opponent tries to sweep it.
Format Analysis

Commander is where Starnheim Unleashed does its best work — the foretell mechanic lets you bank it on a quiet turn and cash in for a lethal token flood when you have the mana to go wide. In competitive formats like Modern and Pioneer it's too slow and too narrow; white token strategies there want cheaper, more consistent payoffs than a sorcery-speed X spell. Legacy and Vintage have access to it in theory, but neither format has any reason to run it. Oathbreaker is a reasonable home if your planeswalker cares about tokens or the Angel type.

Budget Alternatives
Cheaper options that do most of the same work
Secure the Wastes fills a similar role — instant-speed 1/1 Warriors for X white mana at a fraction of the price, though you lose the flying bodies and the foretell discount. Decree of Justice is another X-cost token maker with a cycling mode that functions loosely like foretell, and it sits under a dollar; neither option matches Starnheim Unleashed's combination of evasion, vigilance, and the cost reduction that makes the late-game blowout feel almost free.
Price Context
Current price
$5.80 mid tier
At $5.80, Starnheim Unleashed sits in the mid tier — affordable enough to include without hesitation in any Angel or foretell build, expensive enough that you want to be sure the deck actually leverages the foretell mechanic rather than casting it as a straight sorcery. It's a casual staple with steady demand, so the price reflects real play rather than speculation.
