Stand Firm card art
Stand Firm protects a creature from removal while cantripping — one mana to blank a kill spell and replace itself is a clean exchange at instant speed. It's a staple in any white deck that wants to keep a key creature alive without losing card equity.

In Commander, Stand Firm earns its slot in voltron or go-wide decks where protecting one creature changes the game — losing your commander to a Path to Exile with a full grip is a tempo disaster Stand Firm prevents cleanly. In Pauper, it sees play in white aggro shells where one-mana interaction that replaces itself is the exact rate the format demands. Legacy and Vintage move too fast for reactive one-mana protection to matter much, but the cantrip means running it is never a dead inclusion in fringe white creature builds. Modern has better options in most archetypes, though budget-minded Bogles-adjacent strategies will take the free scry-1 and card replacement without complaint.

Price Context

Current price

$0.05 bulk tier

At $0.05, Stand Firm is firmly bulk — pick up a playset for the cost of a single draft pick. Bulk commons that cantrip rarely spike unless a deck breaks them in a competitive format, so don't expect movement, but there's also no reason not to own a fistful of copies.
