In Commander, Stalwart Valkyrie earns its slot in Angel tribal decks and any white strategy that generates a graveyard naturally — reanimator shells, sacrifice loops, or self-mill payoffs all trigger the discount without any extra work. Pauper is where the card sees its most competitive pressure: a 3/2 flier for two is a genuine threat in a format where evasion at that rate is rare, and white-based skies decks are always looking for bodies that pull ahead on rate.
