Stalked Researcher draws you a card every time a creature you control connects — repeatable card advantage stapled to a flying body for three mana. The ceiling is high in go-wide or evasive-attacker decks; the floor is a 1/3 flier that does nothing if your board gets answered.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Stalked Researcher is a low-investment engine for blue decks built around evasive attackers or go-wide flier strategies — three mana to deploy, and it immediately starts accruing value the turn you swing. Pauper is where it arguably shines brightest in a non-Commander context: common-legal card draw on a relevant body is at a premium, and any aggressive blue deck that can consistently connect will get real mileage out of it. In Modern and Pioneer the competition is steep — three-mana creatures need to do more than draw a card on attack in formats where the game ends on turn four. Legacy and Vintage don't want it at all. Standard is its only other realistic home, and there it depends entirely on whether the format supports an evasive-attacker shell at the time.

Price Context
Current price
$0.02 bulk tier
At $0.02, Stalked Researcher is deep bulk — the kind of card you pick out of a commons box without thinking twice. That price is stable in the sense that there's no meaningful ceiling to fall from; it's a filler slot at every price point above free.
