In Commander, Human tribal decks headlined by commanders like Jirina Kudro or Katilda, Dawnhart Prime can trigger the bonus consistently enough to make it passable, though stronger equipment options exist at the same price point. In competitive formats like Modern and Pioneer, equipment strategies demand immediate board impact — this doesn't threaten anything on the turn it's played and doesn't see meaningful play in those spaces. Pauper is where budget equipment can sometimes carve out a niche, but the Human restriction keeps Squire's Lightblade out of the wider aggressive shells that dominate the format.
