Spiraling Duelist is a 3/1 double striker for four mana that gets first strike and double strike naturally once you have metalcraft — three or more artifacts on board. The rate is real if you're already running an artifact-heavy shell, but four mana for a creature that needs setup to hit its ceiling is a tough sell outside of dedicated synergy decks.

In Commander, Spiraling Duelist belongs exclusively in artifact-centric decks — Breya, Etherium Shaper or equipment commanders where metalcraft is a near-constant state rather than something you have to engineer. In Legacy and Vintage, it competes with a much deeper pool of efficient threats and sees essentially no play; the metalcraft condition is too conditional for formats where games end quickly. Modern has enough artifact synergy payoffs that you could theoretically build around it, but better aggressive options exist at the same cost. Spiraling Duelist is a Commander card through and through, and even there it earns a slot only when the artifact count is high enough to make the double-strike reliable on curve.

$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Spiraling Duelist is deep bulk — you'll find it in a dollar box or bundled in a lot before anyone prices it individually. There's no meaningful upside pressure here; it's a niche synergy piece in a supported archetype, and supply is wide.
