Spinning Wheel Kick deals damage equal to a creature's power to any target — twice — for five mana, making it a removal spell and reach tool in one package when you have a big attacker on board. The cost is real: five mana at sorcery speed means it competes with threats, and without a high-power creature already in play it's just an overcosted burn spell. Shelob, Child of Ungoliant is the poster child for running it: an 8/8 that makes the Kick hit for 16 total damage is a different conversation entirely.

Shelob, Child of Ungoliant
Shelob, Child of Ungoliant turns Spinning Wheel Kick into a 16-damage split across any targets, which either eliminates the table's two biggest threats or closes out a game in one motion — the combination is why the card shows up in 14% of Shelob lists.
Format Analysis

| Format | Verdict |

| oathbreaker | legal |
Spinning Wheel Kick is legal across Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it sees essentially no competitive play outside Commander. In Legacy and Vintage the five-mana sorcery-speed clause is disqualifying — those formats end before you untap with that much mana free. Modern and Pioneer have faster, cleaner removal at lower cost, so Spinning Wheel Kick can't compete for a slot. Commander is its natural home: games go long, large creatures are ubiquitous, and the ability to split the damage means one card can answer two problems or dome two opponents simultaneously.
