Soulflayer can enter the battlefield as a 4/4 with flying, vigilance, first strike, double strike, deathtouch, haste, hexproof, indestructible, lifelink, menace, protection, reach, and trample — whatever keyword soup you fed into the graveyard — for two black mana if you build around it. The ceiling is legitimately absurd; the cost is running a graveyard-filling engine that doesn't stumble.

Commander is where Soulflayer is most at home, because graveyard synergies are abundant and the singleton format rewards high-ceiling threats that need a specific build-around. In Modern and Legacy, Soulflayer sees fringe play in dedicated self-mill shells — the delve cost is trivially met, but a two-mana 4/4 with keywords needs to end games quickly to justify the deck construction tax. Pioneer has similar fringe potential but fewer powerful keyword creatures to pitch. Vintage doesn't care — faster things are happening there.
