Soulblast hits one player for damage equal to your entire creature count — in a token deck, that's a one-card kill from nowhere. The cost is real: you sacrifice every creature you control, so this only works as a finisher, never a tempo play.

Commander is the only format where Soulblast is worth serious consideration — 40 life is a high bar, but token generators like Krenko, Mob Boss or Ghoulcaller Gisa can field enough bodies to clear it in one shot. In Legacy or Vintage, it's a six-mana sorcery that kills your board to deal damage to a single opponent, which is catastrophically slow compared to available alternatives. Soulblast is a Commander card in every meaningful sense, and even there it earns its slot only in dedicated go-wide shells that can reliably flood the board before casting it.
