Soul Sculptor turns any creature into an enchantment — stripping keywords, removing combat relevance, and leaving a permanent that does nothing until your opponents spend a removal spell to fix it. The effect is potent, but the three-mana activation cost on a 1/1 body means Soul Sculptor demands dedicated support to pull its weight.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Soul Sculptor is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but Commander is the only format where it sees any real play. In Legacy and Vintage the activation cost is too slow and the effect too narrow when faster interaction exists in abundance. In Commander the enchantment subtype it creates opens up synergies with constellation payoffs, enchantress draw engines, and flicker loops that can repeatedly reapply the effect. Oathbreaker is technically viable but the smaller card pool and faster games make the three-mana activation a harder sell.

Price Context
Current price
$0.88 bulk tier
At $0.88, Soul Sculptor sits firmly in bulk territory — cheap enough to throw into any enchantment-matters build without hesitation. Demand is too niche to expect the price to move much, so pick it up whenever you need it and don't worry about timing the purchase.
