Soratami Rainshaper trades two lands from your hand to counter a spell targeting any permanent you control — repeatable protection on a 2/2 flying body for three mana. The activation cost is steep enough that it earns a slot only in decks that actively want lands in the graveyard or hand size as a resource.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Soratami Rainshaper is a niche inclusion: the land-return cost is punishing in a format where mana consistency matters, but landfall and graveyard-land synergies — Tatyova, Benthic Druid, Aesi, or The Gitrog Monster builds — offset the tempo loss by converting each activation into a resource. In Pauper, where commons define the format and creature-based countermagic is scarce, the Rainshaper's repeatable protection is legitimately disruptive and the flying body can matter. Legacy and Vintage move too fast for a three-mana do-nothing-until-activated creature to see meaningful play.

Price Context
Current price
$0.14 bulk tier
At $0.14, Soratami Rainshaper is deep bulk — you're not paying for the card, you're paying for the shipping. That price is stable; there's no demand driver to move it, and it will sit at this floor indefinitely.
