Snow Day taps two permanents, draws two cards, and bolts two creatures or players — all on a single six-mana instant. The cost is steep enough that it lives squarely in casual Commander; anywhere with a faster clock will pass.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Snow Day is a Commander card through and through — the six-mana investment is acceptable in a 40-life format where games run long and a three-mode instant can swing a board state. In Modern or Legacy, six mana is a concession you rarely get to make, and all three effects are individually outclassed by cheaper, more focused spells. Pioneer is similarly unkind; the format's midrange density means you're dead or behind before this resolves at a meaningful moment. Oathbreaker shares enough of Commander's pacing that Snow Day can slot in as a value finisher in the right shell.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Snow Day is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not scarcity. Casual demand keeps most Swiss-army instants like this from dropping further, but don't expect the price to move in either direction.
