Slipstream Eel sees essentially no competitive play across any format where it's legal. In Commander, a six-mana 5/4 needs to do more than threaten unblockable damage — the format's board states are too developed by turn six for a single beater to matter, and the islandwalk pitch ability is too situational to build around. In Pauper, the mana efficiency bar is brutal and Slipstream Eel doesn't clear it. Legacy and Vintage have it legal by default, but it has never appeared in those formats in any meaningful context.
