Skyshaper gives your creatures flying for a turn at instant speed — relevant combat trick, negligible cost. It's a fringe playable at best, the kind of card that fills a slot in Limited but competes poorly for space in a tuned Commander list.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Skyshaper is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but the formats where it sees any real consideration are narrow. In Pauper, common-legal flying enablers matter more and Skyshaper can slot into aggressive strategies that need reach. In Commander, the effect is too temporary and too narrow — a one-turn flying buff rarely changes a game at a 100-card table where boardstates are complex and one combat trick doesn't close things out. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more efficient tools, so Skyshaper doesn't register in those formats at all.
