Skylasher

In Commander, Skylasher is a niche role-player: it slots into insect tribal builds and green decks that need cheap, uncounterable answers to problematic blue flyers. Outside of Commander, the card sees occasional sideboard play in Legacy and Modern as a hard counter to blue tempo strategies — protection from blue makes it nearly impossible for Island-based decks to interact with it. In Pioneer it occupies a similar sideboard niche, though the format's threat density limits how often Skylasher's fight clause lines up well. Vintage gives it a legal home but the power level there makes a 2/2 body largely irrelevant. Across formats, Skylasher is a specialized tool, not a maindeck staple.
