Sivvi's Ruse resets your entire board from the graveyard to your hand for two mana — as long as you control a Plains and every creature you're returning shares a creature type. That type restriction makes it narrow, but in a mono-white tribal deck that can actually hit it, this is one of the most mana-efficient mass-recursion spells in the format.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Sivvi's Ruse earns its keep, specifically inside tribal white builds — Rebels, Soldiers, Cats, or Humans — where a single board wipe leaves a full graveyard of same-type creatures waiting to be recouped for two mana. Legacy has the card pools to theoretically abuse it in Rebel chains, but the format moves too fast for a setup-dependent recursion spell to matter outside of fringe brews. Vintage is technically legal but this effect is nowhere near the power threshold that format demands. Sivvi's Ruse is a Commander-only card in practice, and even there it belongs only in decks built to satisfy its tribal clause consistently.

Price Context
Current price
$0.20 bulk tier
At $0.20, Sivvi's Ruse is deep bulk — this is a pickup you grab out of a dollar bin, not something you track down. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to climb unless a breakout tribal commander pushes it into the spotlight.
