Siren Song Lyre taps a creature and keeps it tapped every upkeep for as long as you keep paying two mana — repeatable soft removal on an artifact you can tutor with equipment lines. The cost is real: three to equip, two each turn, and it never permanently answers the threat.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Siren Song Lyre earns a serious look, and even there it belongs in a narrow slice of decks — primarily artifact-matters builds that want redundancy on tap-down effects or equipment synergy payoffs. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it is simply outclassed: those formats move too fast for a three-mana equip that demands a two-mana tax every upkeep. Oathbreaker shares enough of Commander's singleton artifact-synergy logic that the same niche applies, but the smaller deck size makes drawing it more likely and cutting it easier to justify.

Price Context
Current price
$0.16 bulk tier
At $0.16, Siren Song Lyre is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not scarcity. The price is stable because demand is narrow; it won't spike unless a new artifact-equipment commander pushes it into widespread play, and nothing on the horizon suggests that.
