Silvergill Peddler

In Commander, Silvergill Peddler is a niche include — the tap effect on one creature rarely pulls enough weight in a four-player game where threats multiply faster than a single body can answer them, but it earns a slot in Merfolk tribal builds that want both the creature type and incidental disruption. In competitive 1v1 formats like Modern and Legacy, it's too fragile and too conditional: dedicated control and tempo decks have better options at two mana, and anything that dies to a stiff breeze doesn't make those cuts. Pauper is the most hospitable non-Commander format, where the card pool is shallow enough that a 2/1 with an enters-the-battlefield lock effect has genuine standing in Merfolk or tempo shells. Standard legality gives it the widest theoretical audience right now, but the effect is too situational to see serious constructed play there either.
