Silver Drake bounces a blue or white permanent you control when it enters — a cost that turns into an engine the moment Aluren is on the table, letting you loop it indefinitely for free. Outside of that combo, a 3/3 flyer for three with a tempo-negative rider is not a card you're running on rate alone.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Silver Drake is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but its home is narrow in all of them. In Commander it exists almost exclusively as a combo piece in Aluren-based decks — the bounce trigger is a drawback in every other context. Pauper is the one format where it sees occasional fringe play, since the creature density and the common-card constraint make a 3/3 flyer more competitive on rate. Legacy and Vintage have the cards to execute the Aluren loop, but those formats have faster, more redundant ways to win and Silver Drake rarely makes the cut outside of dedicated combo builds.

Pricing data for Silver Drake isn't currently available in this snapshot, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for the current market price. Given its narrow role as a combo enabler, copies tend to stay cheap — it's not a card with broad demand outside of specific Aluren lists.
